If love were liquid it would drown me,
In a placeless place would find me,
In a heart shape come around me and then,
Melt me slowly down,
If love were human it would know me,
In a lost space come and show me,
Hold me and control me and then,
Melt me slowly down,
Like chocolate.

wishes, dreams & thank yous.
jus updated my wishlist on the blog cos i realised most of them have been fulfilled. i'd say much earlier than i had expected. heh. i've added on some new stuff as well, but pls don't be mistaken that i'm a materialistic freak. i'm quite thankful with the stuff i have really, and for those who know me, i can use a bag/wallet/whatever till it's like super old & unusable cos i'm more sentimental than materialistic. :p in fact, like half of my wishlist now is quite unmaterialistic, & only time can tell if i'll get it eventually. yup. for those who don't know, ADM refers to the school of art, design & media @ NTU where i intend to take a degree in animation. the pinnacle studio is the uber cool video-editing program good for me to produce a nice portfolio video to get me into ADM. lol. :p
as for my previous wishlist, yea, i've gotta admit it was quite a materialistic one. heh. BUT it's mainly cos of SDD. the new clothes, fashion accessories, and sponsor for my SDD '06 were all settled by my dear godma (yea, like some fairy godma! :)). she bought me my prom gown, AND A PAIR OF HARRY MASON DESIGNER EARRINGS!! *jumps around in excitement* scroll below to see a pic of it...cool huh? it's like close to $50 a pair lah! O.o but it's also one of the prettiest things i've ever had. :) man, i can't thank her enough & i can't wait for SDD!
i've gotta thank hwei san too for finding the Chicago soundtrack for me so that i can download it into my mp3 player. the little things & thoughts matter to me too. :) now off to try and achieve my unfulfilled wish of passing 4 'A' level subjects. hahah. :p

Breaking headlines that will rock the solar system!
(puns intended) :p
if you haven't alr heard, Pluto (no, not the dog), has been stripped of its status as the ninth planet in our solar system. some top astronomical body (Int'l Astronomical Union) held this huge meeting to debate and take a vote on its fate (yea, what a big fuss over a rock that's waay out of our reach...-.-") and it's now classified as a 'dwarf planet', along with a few other rocks that astronomists have found to have similar masses as Pluto. yea, so all you pple out there who have done some astro-science before, pls fine-tune and update your info. our solar system now officially has only 8 classical planets. heh. :p
took this off an article on the Yahoo! AP news: "Pluto and objects like it will be known as "dwarf planets," which raised some thorny questions about semantics: If a raincoat is still a coat, and a cell phone is still a phone, why isn't a dwarf planet still a planet?" haha. looks like there's gonna be some more debate & explaination over this issue. for those who are interested, the new definition of a planet is: a planet not only must orbit the sun and be large enough to assume a nearly round shape, but must "clear the neighborhood around its orbit."
anyway, i find it disturbing to think that the stuff we study today, esp in the science course, is decided by the whole lot of scientists out there who simply dictate what they think is right. it's ok if it's true, established facts like the planets revolving around the Sun and not the Earth that we are studying; but this whole debate of where to categorise Pluto under is jus sth that's based on the whims and fancies of the astronomists. damn, very soon scientists are gonna tell us that the amoeba doesn't belong to the animal kingdom! :p
1 stupid little vote that says: "oh, we don't think Pluto belongs to the solar system anymore!" and the whole world has to change their mindsets, their textbooks, their encyclopedias and their astronomical guidebooks. wonder if this has any effects on constellations. lol. probably not. tsk. the things pple do to 'change the world'. :p

cheesy bites!
me, tiq and john went pizza hut today to eat the cheesy bites pizza! *yum* lol. tiq was craving for pizza so we accompanied her lah. if not she so poor thing wait for so long and nobody go eat pizza with her. :p the pizza was quite nice lah. i know i don't sound very convincing but yea i mean it. but it's one of those flavours where i personally feel that i can only enjoy it if i eat like a bit of it once in a long while. too much of it is jus too cheesy for me. heh. :p
lessons these days has been quite...well, interesting. there's like so many pple in sch, and yet so few in tutorials and lectures. all pon classes to go mug. tsk tsk. like got pple in the library from 8am-6pm, pple in the T-block classrooms from 4pm-10pm, pple in the concourse...aiyah, jus all over the place lah! i wouldn't exactly call it scary...but it makes those pple like me who go for every lesson everyday wonder if we are really stupid to actually go for lessons. ah heck. i abide by my own principles anyway. :p
but seriously, it sucks being one of the rare species who go for every lesson daily cos pple from the class will keep asking you to do things for them, help them check/collect stuff, ask you for answers, etc etc, cos they're not in sch to do it. highly irritating lah. i don't mind doing it once or twice but it's like wth lah, you don't wan to come to sch then bear the consequences yourself lah! hmph.
alrighty, 'nuff blogging. time to do some work. :) (oh yes, happy 6th month to me blog! :) :))

viva le RAFAlution!
got the post title from a line i read in the New Paper today which i thought was really creative & nice. :) anyway, in case some pple out there have not already heard the news...
LIVERPOOL WON THE FA COMMUNITY SHIELD WITH A 2-1 GAME OVER chelsea!!!
:) :) :)
this so totally made my day. haha. should see the face on Sean when he came into the council room desperately wanting to know the results of the match...only to find out that he lost his bet that chelsea will win. lol. :p too bad, LIVERPOOL ROCKS. now let's see them keep up this winning streak in the Champions League and in the Premiership. haha. :p
down with the blues. down with the devils. the reds will reign for we will never walk alone! :)

BOOM. says the fireworks.
finally got to go out today to Suntec. and managed to catch the last of the fireworks festival presented by the France team. :) pretty spectacular...only problem was getting through the whole crowd of pple that was ALL over the cityhall/marina bay area. thousands and thousands of pple...no kiddin'! thankfully i'm quite used to such a scenario alr. try walking along Chinatown on the eve of the lunar new year every year and you get the picture. heh. :p
anyway, i think what was more fun was playing with the 'Virtual Land' machines at Suntec for like more than an hour. if you ever had a decent childhood then maybe you can remember playing with those stuffed-toy-picking machines. the kind you try to pick the stuffed toy with the claw into the outlet so that you get to bring it home? yeah, me and my family used to play with those A LOT. so much so that i had like hundreds of stuffed toys at home. hee. managed to pick myself 2 tiny Stitch toys...nice. my dad on the other hand was playing at the candy/snacks/toy jackpot roulette with my godma, trying to win the big prize on the jackpot. the jackpot isn't that dependent on luck cos you're bound to get it if you play long enough (ie >1 hour). and so we did. spent goodness-knows-how-much-time (definitely >1 hour) and $100. O.o here's what we got from the roulette:
- 554 (indiviually packed) sweets
- 1 gummy pack
- 3 mini biscuit stick cans
- 5 packs of nuts
- 1 box of choc biscuits
- 1 minnie mouse toy
- 4 sizzling lollipops
- jackpot prize: 1 big tigger soft toy
all for a hundred bucks. damn expensive. but it was fun so we were happy. haha. :) it's been so long since we've last played so hysterically on such machines so it's definitely nice to do so again. :) :)
tmr's sunday. means only 1 day of my long break left. BOO HOO. and there's so much work left undone and unstudied. bleah. i don't like this. >_<

jus rambling....
found this on the 7th aug edition of TODAY which i thought was really funny & true:
Said the priest: 'Beware this sinful organ
I shall not mention it by name
It gives man so much pleasure
But causes much regret and shame!
'Though it's only a small roll of flesh
From it all mischief has sprung
I will now show you this monster!'
And the priest put out his tongue.

some pple i know have gone on some hiatus on their blogs cos of mugging. goodness. i don't think i'll be able to do that. this blog has kinda evolved into some outlet for me to vent my frustrations, entertain myself (tho i dunno how to define that... :p), keep some memories and jus chill out when mugging's killin' me.
i'm the kind of weird creature who die die must go out with close friends once in a while before i go crazy. unfortunately, my 'a while' is like once a week or slightly longer during stress periods (esp exam time) but like once a month if things are going smoothly. i mug better alone, so staying at home these few days has been pretty much effective. only thing is that there's hardly any contact with my social circle out there! haha. who ask me to be such a people-person. :p
ok, i realise i'm quite incoherent at the moment. signs of someone going crazy from mugging soon. :p erm, if you have trouble understanding the above, then don't try to. if you can understand the above, then welcome to the club! (jus kiddin'!) haha. :p

this is what 12 years of NE does to you.
eve of national day = national day celebrations! :) there's sth abt the way national day celebrations are carried out in JCs that irks me. firstly, almost the whole year 2 population is missing! i highly suspect i was the only one from my class present. (tho i did see steph in sch way aft the celebrations were over.) & it's not jus my class. most of the 22nds i know were missing also. tsk tsk.
secondly, i have no idea what in the world the pple hosting the concert segment were doing. yea, they started off ok with the national day songs but the atmosphere was totally killed with all the non-relevant and seemingly forced out videos. yea, i appreciate the effort but while i'm trying not to be biased here, i still think last year's celebrations were better.
actually cannot blame the organising folks entirely also. national day is one of those celebrations that won't be fun unless you participate full-heartedly. and so of cos, there's always me, grace, yvette, lay queen, and tiq and some other pple who will go high on this day jus to hype things up. hahah. the few of us were the only folks besides the 23rds standing up and singing the songs at the top of our voices. too bad for all those who were blocked by us. lol. :p grace even had mini-flags for us to wave like crazy. hee.
i kinda miss the sec sch national day celebrations. the march-past, the flag ceremony....yea they were the 'boring formal' part of the ceremony but at least they were meaningful. it's even worse now that we jus run through the ceremony without much meaning to it. and we get to sing the classic national day songs like 'count on me, s'pore', 'stand up for s'pore', 'home', 'where i belong' and what-have-yous. haha. i'm sure there're pple out there who agree that these are the best songs to sing on national day. :)
guess the best part was to be able to wear red/white tops to sch. looks quite nice if everyone took the effort to do so tho. but since our uniform is off-white, it pretty much suits the occasion. :) as expected, mr seet was wearing the same red top as me....the liverpool jersey! damn funny when we were heading in each other's direction on the zebra crossing and we pointed to each other's jersey going 'hey hhaay!' hahaha. yvette, who was next to me, was taken back a bit by our reactions. hee. see, liverpool rocks. you'll never walk alone. :)
the celebrations ended really early, even aft mass dance (that says sth, doesn't it?) so i went off to play floorball with queen, grace, momo and some of the other year 2s. :) a great way to spend time besides catching a movies i'd say. heh. while i was playing floorball, the soccer juniors were out playing a match against the teachers. they lost by quite a large margin but i think the experience was good for them and that's what counts. aft all, the seniors never got the chance. keep up the spirit girls! :)
here's a shout-out to everyone in advance: HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!! :)

wah, damn sad case can?!
ok, so the matter wasn't resolved after all. but i'm not gonna start ranting in full force here cos there's been so many nice pple trying to cheer me that my disappointment has pretty much been reduced. for those who are wondering what a big fuss this whole thing is abt, it's actually a very small issue that jus happened to get on the wrong side of my nerves. heh. (yes, i'm still gonna rant a teeny weeny bit here. :p)
look, all i wanted was to watch the movie 'the lakehouse' tmr aft national day celebrations which happens to be a tuesday (ie cheaper movie ticket day). PLUS it's the only half-day left that's still a comfortable distance away from the prelims exams. isn't that like a great opportunity? ah, but unfortunately, after asking like 6, 7 pple, i still haven't found anyone to watch with. that's excluding the pple i didn't ask cos i knew they wouldn't go anyway. i'm not the kind of person to watch movies alone, especially romance stories, so guess i won't go.
so, we've heard enough reasons why pple don't do homework. now for reasons why pple don't wanna watch movie. haha. (disclaimer: hey, this is not to offend anyone and i'm not doing this out of anger directed at anybody. it's jus funny to put them all together. :p)
1. alr has another appointment with other friends
2. going back to home country
3. wanna mug
4. wrong timing
5. don't feel like watching the movie
6. not free
7. watched the movie alr
haha...anyway, a big THANK YOU to grace for offering to make arrangements to watch with me even tho you didn't really wan to watch. and another big THANK YOU to my partner-in-crime sheryl for attempting to 'console' me (in redemption for being the 1st to reject me...lol). sigh, somehow there is no way i can remain angry with you for long. :p to all my other buddies out there, don't worry, as i've said earlier, i'm not angry at anyone. jus disappointed not to be able to spend the half-day as i would have liked.
alrighty, enough abt such a puny issue. i know i have a tendency to make a storm in a teacup when i'm not in the right mood/frame of mind. haha. :p off to sleep then. the pillow shall be my best friend for the nite. :)

intra-council
yesterday was intra-council. as expected there weren't many 22nds who were there. in fact, those that initially said they were coming apparently disappeared too. hmph.
didn't expect this intra to be so tiring tho. thought i would only be doing mass dance so it'll be ok wearing council shirt and jeans. guess what? i arrived early and ended up playing floorball with 11 guys AND soccer with 9 guys. (yes, literally male) zero girls. (they were all chit-chatting somewhere) goodness me, the games were so fast that i couldn't be bothered to run aft the ball. haha. i was wearing jeans to play somemore so it was terribly hot. ah, but it was fun anyway and was a good way to kill time. fast. OH YAH, i finally learnt how to play german bridge from dory. hahah...but it's a terrible mathematic game also. nvm, at least i don't feel so blur when i see pple playing bridge now. heh. :) :)
daniel from 20th kept calling me 'fong fong' , and so all the other seniors who didn't know me started calling me that too. grrr. in retaliation i decided to call him 'dan dan'. lol. :p it was definitely nice to see so many seniors coming back, especially those from the 21st. i certainly hope most of the 22nds will be back next year. :)
i went to the sci centre today! my favourite playground!! hee hee. went with my family to catch the largest, most complete T-Rex fossil ever. She's called Sue and was auctioned off to the Field Museum of Chicago at the whopping price of US$5 million! since she's currently on loan to SSC, might as well grab this rare chance rite? haven't been to the sci centre for such a long time alr. so many things have changed. in fact, my fav exhibit, the 'electric' shocker chair....has gone missing!! argh. but nvm, SSC is still the best place to play the whole day away. *whee* :p saw this quote which i thought was really cute: "gravitation should not be responsible for people falling in love" - Albert Einstein. lol. :)
currently a bit miffed over some small issue. (see previous post) if it doesn't get any better soon then you probably see me ranting here in abt 1 or 2 days' time. hah.

resistance is futile...when the jitterbug bites!
wah, i can't seem to resist any opportunity to dance lah. some small little jive course held at the concourse today and even tho it started at 3pm and my lesson ended at 3.40pm, i still went down anyway cos jus so happened that jasmine (S22) wanted to go down aft the lecture also. :) heck returning home 'earlier' to study. lol. :p
so 2 sci fac year 2 students learning to jive together with abt 10 other arts fac year 1s. haha. goes to show how mad abt dancing we are. :p cos we went late we only got to dance for abt 45min. but it was sufficient enough to learn all the steps, dance decently, and swoon over the extremely pro instructor's dance moves. lol. he's damn good lah! (read: 5 times latin american champion) his jive is friggin' HAWT. jas says he looks like someone from the movie 'take the lead'. i'm definitely impressed.
anyway, it was overall fun fun fun. :) pity it was so short and only the 2 of us. eh, must hunt for a nice dance course to enroll in when i'm free. hai, there's so many things on my things-to-do-aft-A-levels. heh. so terrible of me. >_<

UNSW. NTU (ADM). UNSW. NTU (ADM). digital media. animation. digital media. animation. 3 year (hons). 4 years. 3 years (hons). 4 years. overseas. local. overseas. local. academic. portfolio. academic. portfolio. scholarships. scholarships. scholarships.
sometimes, i wonder if these career & scholarship fairs really help in making your life better. apparently this one left me in total chaos and irritation cos my head was jus overloaded with info on UNSW, NTU (ADM), infocomm & scholarships. ugh. yes, i'm quite intent on doing animation & film production in uni but it is so freaking hard to decide which is a better choice for me and worse still, having to worry abt finding a scholarship that i am actually eligible for to finance my studies. BAH. anyway, at the end of it all, i guess i did manage to pick up some useful stuff and get a clearer idea of what's going on. :) now to get my 4 A levels. bleah.
thankfully the short time i spent with grace, salome & charmaine on the field playing soccer today after the fair managed to un-stone me & unload my headaches. :) it's nice playing soccer jus like that. no pressure to train, no worries abt commitment, no need to bring so many things. haha. not that i hated all that in the past but it's definitely more relaxing kicking the ball now. :) ah, there is a flip-side however. i get tired after playing like only a while. haha. unfit i know. :p
got a surprise pack from the navy in the mail today. some promotional booklet in a puffy velvet pocket with silver prints: "finding meaning in dreams". stylo sia. i had a lot of fun using the pocket as a glove and going around smacking my family. lol. :p but the book's interesting also. tho i'm not exactly seeking a career in the navy. nyeh.
ok, enough abt all this career, scholarships, uni entry crap. i think i'm gonna go nuts & get nightmares if i think abt it anymore. haha. :) off to find another meaning in dreams then.
