If love were liquid it would drown me,
In a placeless place would find me,
In a heart shape come around me and then,
Melt me slowly down,
If love were human it would know me,
In a lost space come and show me,
Hold me and control me and then,
Melt me slowly down,
Like chocolate.

Soccer Overload! (cont'd)
Chapter 7: Praise to the Lord & a special mention to my buddy
Day 7, a week aft the dust has settled, & a day to thank God. Thank You Father, for being so faithful & for answering our prayers. Thank You for being there for us and to watch over the team. Thank You Father, most of all, for giving me a friend who has stuck with me for so long...it is indeed my blessing to have found such a wonderful buddy. :)
to squirrel, it's very hard for me to find the courage to say this to you personally so i'd jus say it here 1st. a BIG thank you for being my spark of inspiration & motivation, without which i wouldn't have found the courage to start the team. we've been thru so much this past year, & i am very thankful that our friendship is as good as when we first started. for all the late-nite, hours-long phone calls, for all the crazily-rushed outings, for all the smses...for keeping me (in)sane all this while, what better could i ask for? lol. :p my apologies if at any time along the way, i've hurt or have been insensitive to your feelings. i don't mean it intentionally & i hope you'll forgive me for that. thanks again...friends forever. :)

Chapter 6: to the teachers, our greatest fans, & my dearies
to miss tan & mr tan, thank you for being there to support us at our matches and to provide advice to us during our games. this is not intended to be sarcastic, but the fact that you may have not believed that we could go so far this year has inspired the team to go all out in proving the school wrong. consider it as an alternate form of motivation. heh. nonetheless, thank you again for all your assistance during our season! :)
to all the Victorians who came down / supported the team in one way or another, thank you for being our greatest fans. it is indeed heartening for the team to see that the school is behind them in pursuing our dreams and your support has definitely helped in bringing us thus far. thank you for the loud cheering, the drum-beat and all the passion you've shown...as the 12th player on the field! :)
oh yes, to tim, thank you so much for capturing our finals on the camera! they are very nicely taken & will definitely serve as wonderful memories for us. :)
to the 23rds redshirts, thanks for coming down to lead the crowd and supporting us at our matches. thanks also for all your well-wishes. you guys have done a great job at match supports this year...keep it up and keep striving to improve! :)
to the 22nds SC, thank you to all of you who came down for our matches (jasmine, george, hwei san, tiq, lay queen, grace, yvette, charlene, enqing) and for showing so much belief in me & my team. i am truly thankful that i have so many friends who are so supportive of me. :)
esp to hwei san, tiq, & lay queen, thank you for carrying me thru all my ups & downs, for comforting me when things went wrong, for giving me a shoulder to cry on, & for being so understanding when soccer and council work clashes. there's no better group of girlfriends to ask for in VJ than you all. thank you! :)
'enuff soccer. yea i mean everything that i say above, but i wanna rant too.
something's not right,
when my heart starts accelerating
& i get slightly breathless at the sight of someone.
something's not right,
when i've sorted out my feelings
& yet it's reflex reaction.
something's not right,
when i feel insecure abt one of my friendships.
something's not right,
when i stare blankly at my lecture notes
& my lecture notes are half-blank too.
something's not right,
when i get a headache while on the bus ride home.
something's not right,
when i know my life's in a wreck at the moment
& i'm sick of doing anything abt it.
ugh, i need a break from myself.
excuse me while i disappear from the surface of this earth for a while.

Chapter 5: to the 3 coaches
[...sincerely hope that the school would assist us in fulfilling the aspirations of the girls who are truly interested in claiming glory for Victoria Junior College... hope that the girls' soccer team would make a name for itself while bringing glory to the school as well.]
for all those out there who haven't seen the proposal yet, here's a glipmse of what was in it. yea, the folks who started it had great aspirations for the team, but it was the coaches who have helped achieve it. the 3 coaches have done way beyond excellent in bringing the team to where we are today, & the team can't ask for any more than this. applause for them pls. :)
to mr tang a.k.a. JR, thanks for showing so much faith in the team, and for taking time off to coach the team. you may not have spent much time with the team this season but you have certainly had much impact on us. the experiences & joys shared by you are priceless. thanks again! :)
to mr lim wei quan a.k.a mini, i can never thank you enough for offering to coach us at the beginning, for without you, there might never have been a girls' soccer team set up in the first place. the team went thru a lot last year, and i'm grateful that you stuck by us all this time. you even helped us find a replacement coach when you had to leave, & came back again when you were free! you're a fantastic coach, esp as a keeper-coach, so thanks again for being there with us all this while!
to azrul a.k.a head coach, gosh, where do i start? you came in as our new coach last year, took hold of the team and turned everything around for us. from trg to soccer camp to matches, you never stopped pushing us towards excellence & you never stopped instilling the right values in us as players. thank you for treating us as your friends, for treating the team as champions in our own right, for standing up for the team so many times, & for going thru all that crap when things went wrong. the team wouldn't be here today without you & i'm glad that we can share this victory with you.
as a friend, thank you for believing in me, for all the late-night meals at 7-11, for grooming me as a player, for all your advice, jokes and sarcastic remarks. haha. i wouldn't have lasted so long with what i've started without your support. thanks again. :)

Soccer Overload! (cont'd)
Chapter 4: to my youngest IP players
- audrey - jolyn - jing jing - jie min - leanne -
youngest in the team, but certainly no push-overs! you lot are the most promising players on the team for if you all decide to stay on in the team in the years to come, i'm sure your experience and stories will go a long way in bringing the team to greater heights. nonetheless, i hope that this season's team would be the most memorable & meaningful one for you all.
to audrey, as the senior IP player, you have shown great talent on the field and i'm sure you have inspired your junior IP team-mates as well. you have played your role as a defender very impressively so keep up the good work by keeping out the strikers! :)
to jolyn, ever since you joined us, there has been countless words of wisdom & 'chimness' (haha!) from you which have inspired all of us. please do continue to do so with all other juniors that may cross your path. play hard & rock on as what you've done as a winger too! :)
to jing jing, hahah... you drama-mama! gosh, every trg, every match, every team meal, every team meeting, you sure got some drama up your sleeve. thanks for bringing so much fun & laughter to the team. well done as a striker this season and may you play as well in future! :)
to jie min, trg with you has never been easy for me, personally. why? cos it's so hard to get past you, esp when you are so fast with your long legs! hahah..jus wanna commend you on your efforts as a defender. good job and continue with the great defensive work on the field! :)
to leanne, welcome back to the team! thank you for coming to support the team this year. no doubt you have quite a bit to catch up with the rest but no worries, you have plenty of time to hone your skills. so work hard and play hard on the field! :)

your addition to the soccer girls family is indeed a blessing to the seniors. the fact that you all chose to join a CCA with such a short and seemingly insignificant history speaks a lot about the faith that you had in the seniors. not only have you all bonded the seniors together, the talent & support shown by you all on & off the pitch has been invaluable to the team. thank you so much.
to jaslyn, you have certainly earned the respect of the team as a vice-captain, and man you show incredible talent as striker & winger on the field. your ball-control is good, so keep it up and play a higher level of football in the next comp. may you lead the team to greater success! :)
to vivian, the gummy bear! really glad to have you back aft the 2nd posting. another great talent with soccer & throws. i truly appreciate your efforts in bringing the team together and teaching the team what teamwork is. continue to be our team mid-field anchor yea? :)
to farah, our junior keeper, as what i've told you before & i will say again, i'm truly amazed at the rate you've improved as a keeper, and i admire your courage for going thru the trgs, the pressures of playing the semi & finals. i know things haven't been easy for you but i'm sure come the next comp, you'll be the best keeper around! :)
to eileen and debra, as striker & mid-fielder, you both have shown great determination on the pitch in trg and match. i'm glad to have been able to play along-side eileen as striker, and have debra as my mentee for you both are good players. cheers! :)
to michelle, jasmin, dorcas and li wen, thank you for being such a wonderful fans. you all are still part of the team and may your efforts this season be paid off by getting to play in the next comp. your never-say-die spirit is something that is inspirational to the team so take pride in that! :)

Soccer Overload! (cont'd)
[Disclaimer: what i say here (on this blog) is entirely my own opinion and not of anyone else's. it is out of true feelings that i have, with no other intentions but to share my joys with others and to recognise what my team has done in fulfilling our dream. please feel free to change the url anytime cos no one is obliged to read my blog.]
- grace - salome - charmaine - christl - stephanie - sara - shiling - si hui - alexandria - tan xuan - shuyu - waiyen - wara - bee teng -
no words can describe how much i appreciate & admire you pple. for all your determination, commitment, encouragement and the list goes on. i'm very glad that fate has brought us together, as the pioneer team, and i do hope we can continue to influence the future junior teams in any way possible. thank you for taking ownership of this team.
to salome, i'd like to commend you on being such a great captain. you've certainly earned the respect of the team and you deserve it for leading us to greater heights. playing on the field as capt is not easy, esp since you're a defender but you have proven to be good in both roles. good on you! :)
to grace, my dear vice-pres, thanks for stepping up to take the post last year when no one else was willing to. you've been a great assistant! you have also played well as a defender...small but strong! :)
to charmaine, you're the best secretary any team can have and i'm glad you're in mine. truly admire you for all the courage you've shown over the past year, from taking up the role of goalkeeper, to going thru goalkeepers' trg, to the unfortunate event before the semis. cheers for being such a wonderful player! :)
to christl, a job well done as the quartermistress aka logistics manager! yea sure some things got lost but it's ok. it's not easy washing & keeping track of the logs so you still deserve a pat on the back for your efforts. i know you're a winger who strives for excellence, so believe in your ablities! :)
to stephanie, a fantastic mid-fielder in the game, an equally hard-working publicity i/c off the pitch! thank you for all the publicity work done for the team. an excellent job done. continue to play soccer with the flair that you have! :)
to sara, thank you for all your efforts in collecting money as a treasurer. gosh, after taking over the funds i nearly died! haha. not an easy job man. thanks too for being there with the team for every match. appreciated. :)
to shiling and shuyu, the both of you have shown determination beyond any other. trg with all your injuries, striving for excellence. *respect* you both are definitely a worthy striker and defender in your own right. :)
to sihui, alex and tan xuan, thank you for all the fun entertainment you all always bring to the team! thru all the fun & laughter, you all also show determination in trg and that's what a team needs. good defender, mid-fielder and winger! :)
to waiyen, wara and bee teng, well, i can only say thank you for being our greatest fans. for all your efforts in coming down to assist, encourage and watch the team, the team can't ask for anything more. i dare say that the team is incomplete without you all. :)

Soccer Overload!
oh gosh, there's been so many things happening and so many things that i wanna say that i really dunno where to start. don't even think i can finish all that i wanna say in one post. lol.
first things first, HAPPY18th BIRTHDAY DEARJIATSING!! the final member of our gang has finally turned 18! lol. :p
ok, shall jump forward a bit first and CONGRATULATE the VJ soccer boys for bringing the champion trophy home in a frustrating-turned-thriller final with a score of 4-2!! HAHA!! soccer is the only doubles champion sports! *whoopee!*
YAY! WE'RE THE CHAMPIONS! i'm so proud of all the soccer girls in the VJ girls' soccer team 05/06. would love to write more now, but i'm really tired out. erm, got essay prepared for tmr's post in mind alr so check back some time later ok? i've got tons of things to say. heh. :p

why horoscopes should never be taken lightly.
in weekend TODAY (20-21 may '06):
AQUARIUS - put on your best attire and get ready to have a fun time out on the town. leave your worries behind and plan to enjoy a very special social experience.
haha...and i read that just after returning from an outing with my darling. how very true. waited 2 long months to finally go out with you! it's jus different having ya around. and i know you know that too. lol. i don't care, i'm gonna bug you this coming holidays...hahah. :p

oh yes, we're thru to the finals! whoopee! haha...guaranteed a medal. :) now that's the good news. the flip-side is, the next 1 week to come is gonna be C.R.A.Z.Y. with 4 trgs in 6 days. expect to see me stoned in school again. lol. :p but well, i'm sure it'll all pay off. heh.
but if there's anything that can make me happier than this, it's that big squirrel hug i got from my dearie! :) oh man, we haven't spoken to each other face-to-face for almost 2 months! i won't ever forget that wonderful laugh when we hugged. :) gosh i think we were so happy that i was flying off the ground alr. lol. i know nothing can ever come between us. yay. :)
the tjc-sajc match was quite exciting to watch, with a 0-0 draw and a penalty shootout. woah. well, tj won 4-3 on penalties. maybe vj and tj are destined to play their last match of the season against each other, cos that's what happened last year in the league system. but this time, it's gonna be a whole lot more different. trust me. :p

a race to the end.
hmm. shall blog while waiting for a huge file to be downloaded.
the semi-finals are tmr. and although there is a quiet sense of confidence in me, i feel a little scared too. not scared of the opponents. jus afraid of getting that feeling of having lost everything all over again. happens all the time, but i know it'll go away the moment we reach the pitch. :)
[all the best to you dear. just a while more before the holidays come around. :)]
a race to run
a journey begun
started with a good pace
thought everything was ok
no doubt there were glitches
like a few stitches
held on still
and did what was best
yet, others saw differently
tripped on purpose
fell. hard.
flat on the floor.
still, there's no giving up
standing up was easy
yes it was...but
walking on was hard
all were so far ahead
it's difficult to catch up
a dream to be realise
seems to drift in the distance
it's been a long way
tiring, but still fulfilling
forget the pain
almost at the end
all that's left
is just to sprint
sprint all the way
and finish this race.
this dream is still within reach.

only almost here.
looked into the sky during training today and saw the full moon shining brightly. suddenly felt like howling again. quite a scary feeling actually, though i know the reason behind it. (kindly do not jump to wild conclusions here.)
hai. it's really getting harder and harder to pull myself together. sorry if i act up or seem schizophrenic (split personality). i'm still holding back, just trying not to repeat the nightmare of my march holidays '06.
i'll recover. soon. =)

follow through.
Oh, this is the start of something good, don't you agree? I haven't felt like this in so many moons,
you know what I mean? And we can build through this destruction As we are standing on our feet
So since you want to be with me You'll have to follow through With every word you say And I, all I really want is you For you to stick around I'll see you everyday But you have to follow through You have to follow through
These reeling emotions they just keep me alive,
they keep me in tune Oh, look what I'm holding here in my fire, this is for you Am I too obvious to preach it You're so hypnotic on my heart
So since you want to be with me You'll have to follow through With every word you say And I, all I really want is you For you to stick around I'll see you everyday But you have to follow through You have to follow through
The words you say to me are
unlike anything that's ever been said And what you do to me is
unlike anything that's ever been Am I too obvious to preach it You're so hypnotic on my heart
So since you want to be with me You'll have to follow through With every word you say And I, all I really want is you For you to stick around I'll see you everyday
So since you want to be with me You'll have to follow through With every word you say And I, all I really want is you For you to stick around I'll see you everyday But you have to follow through You have to follow through
You're gonna have to follow Oh, this is the start of something good, don't you agree?
================================================
a song that got stuck in my head.
maybe it's the catchy tune.
maybe it's cos it was played during invest.
but somehow the words seem so meaningful to me.
it brings back lots of fond memories. =)

semi-finals, here we come!
4-0
VJC vs RJC
@ Jalan Besar Stadium, 1600hrs
2 goals from Steph
2 goals from Jaslyn
1 beautiful astro turf field
scorching hot day
=============================================
omg. it is hard to believe that we are THIS close to the semi-finals. O.o
anyway, jalan besar stadium is really really nice. we got to use the player's changing room, which is like a mini version of what you see behind the scenes for EPL games. AND we happily sat ourselves at the HOME bench. lol. but OH MAN, the best part of all must be the field. astro turf. in dark and light green stripes. smooth. sleek. it's like playing on a dream turf lah! ok, the only setback is that the turf heats up a lot so any part of your body on it can just go up in flames. haha.
haha...physical aspects of the stadium aside, i think the team got really excited cos we got to see:
1. FANDI AHMAD
2. the Young Lions
3. the Younger Lions (U-21)
4. the boys from Brazil
AHH!! this is like some influx of hot cute guys lah!! lol. *gushes* for those who don't know the boys from Brazil, they're this super-skilled players specially invited to S'pore for a World Cup publicity stint. and they have very nice charming eyes. hehe.
must say that today's match has set a new record for the number of supporters who have turned up. we had:
- mrs chan! O.o
- mr tan
- miss tan
- mr lim
- the non-players :)
- some pple from 05S15
- a photographer from 05S15
- Uni (azrul's gf)
- jolyn's dad & bro
- an ex-vj soccer boy now in young lions
now, how can anyone say that things are not getting exciting? haha. i'm playing in the next match on wed! freakin' nervous. lol. i can jus die for econs test tmr alr. heck. haha. come down and support us if you're free on wed at 3pm!! it's at serangoon stadium...much appreciated! :)

ho hum.
hmm. haven't been blogging for almost 5 days now, which is a pretty long break to me. i guess it's cos life has been pretty disjointed for me at this time. sometimes i jus feel like a hamster running on the wheel and getting nowhere. ugh.
invest is over. like for almost a week. and it still feels weird. well, as far as i know, most of the 22nds have evolved into either muggertoads or shopaholics. gosh, they all have so much free time on their hands now! hai, and me? i'm still living the life of a kid struggling to keep awake in lessons, studying at the last min for tests, and tutorials are almost non-existant to me. and it doesn't help that half my class is barely turning up for lectures and tutorials even tho they are in sch. at least i know i'm there (physically) for every lesson.
soccer. lol...man, i'm so gonna whack wp for wrecking up the field with their rally so we couldn't play our match and now we have to wait till tmr to see if we can get into the semi-finals. hmph. trg is like almost everyday now. so yah, i've pretty much got a ball flying around in my head all the time that is spent out of trg, and a ball flying around my head during trg! :p
took a bad fall on labour day during rehearsal. hai. suddenly got no strength in my legs when attempting to run back to the hall and cos i was holding a book in my left hand, i broke my fall with only my right hand. *SPACK* couldn't move for a few secs aft that lah. scary. till now my finger joints still hurt and i can't write fast. not good considering econs test is coming up. gonna see the doctor tmr to check.
it's quite nostalgic reading the councillors' blogs. brings back fond memories of what we've gone thru. shall go around choping photos cos some of mine turned out blur. anyway, i think i've been rambling a bit too much here. see, disjointed life leads to disjointed thoughts which leads to crappy posts. i think the ball in my head has terribly messed up my departments of thoughts. don't be surprised if you see me stoning around in sch for the next few days to come. erm, attempts to break me out of this state is much appreciated. lol. :p enough.
[sorry babe, for bugging you so much these few days. i jus really wan to have your company and have someone to talk to. it jus sucks having to be so near yet so far away from you. soon ok? :)]

the last day of our black tags.
so this is it. the last day that our black tags would be worn on our uniforms. as usual, the reality of things probably hasn't hit me yet. lol. guess i'll really start missing the old council life when i realise that:
-i can't stand at the side of the hall in the morning...
-the uniforms of the 22nds seem quite empty...
-i don't have to raise the sch flag anymore...
-the council room is horrendously crowded now...
of course, i am now relieved of my duties. that's something to be happy about. :) but i hate to think that i should now have to join the 800 other J2s in mugging for A levels. ugh.
to the 22nds:
i cannot put into words the heartfelt gratitude i have for all of you. the fun, laughter, tears, pain that we've gone through together have inter-weaved into beautiful memories that i will not let go of in the years to come. fate has brought the 39 of us together last year, and it is our undying spirit that brings us to where we are today.
i'm proud to be a part of the 22nds, for all of you have such unique character, personality and passion. i could never have learnt and grown so much in such a short period of time with anyone else. thank you for being such a blessing to me! for all your support and for being the BEST council i could ever ask for!
