If love were liquid it would drown me,
In a placeless place would find me,
In a heart shape come around me and then,
Melt me slowly down,
If love were human it would know me,
In a lost space come and show me,
Hold me and control me and then,
Melt me slowly down,
Like chocolate.

and the wedding bells sounded so lovely =)
sth that the pastor said that i thought was really sweet & it got stuck in my head:
"...that 20, 30, or even 40 years down the road, you'll look back and say to each other that you'll still be the choice that i would make all over again."
awww....
if i didn't count wrongly, this should be the 2nd wedding i've attended this year. 1st time i received a personal invitation (ie addressed to me), altho not quite by default. haha. it's my former teacher's wedding. simple affair in a small church. sweet & simple. :) had to enlighten poon a bit cos it was her 1st time at a church wedding. quite a funny experience with her i'd say. :p well, tho i'm not a a true Christian, i've walked down the church aisle as a flowergirl before. my uncle had a church wedding so i'm quite familiar with it alr. anyway, jus for the fun of it, i'd jus list some things that i like at a church wedding:
- the simplicity of it
- the way marriage is presented so beautifully in prayer
- learning more abt the Christ way
- witnessing the exchange of rings & vows
(that you don't see at wedding dinners)
- the music (the hymns, & esp the grand organ!)
- the adorable page boy & flowergirl (hey i love my role! :p)
- the wedding bells that ring aft the ceremony
and so after the wedding me & yvette had to go back to sch for college day. met yvette's cute little doggy at her house before heading off to sch. it's SO cute cos it started following behind me all over the place, even when i tried to shake it off by turning round on the spot! haha. :) i think this year's college day was a much better experience than last year's. at least we got to watch in LT5 and the pple recieving prizes (mostly year 3s) looked familiar to us. hee. had intended to do work during the ceremony but ended up doing nothing. bah. oh ya, was quite pleased that the girls' soccer team was mentioned quite a no. of times. cos of the title we won & cos of azrul. (ha! yes you were mentioned! - if you're reading this azrul! :p) anyway, i'm jus glad that the team has gained recogition from the sch. :) i jus love being Victorian. <3

if only time could be turned back...
i remember the scene vividly.
it was jus aft the prelims, before our papers were returned to us. my favourite teacher was walking along the corridor in my direction. i saw her. woah. pink blouse with pink dangling earrings and dark pants. i thought she looked really stylo in that. i figured she'd stop to say hi, and so she did. but for other reasons too.
"hey she fong, what happened to your A maths ah?"
i smiled sheepishly, but knowingly.
[me] "eh how you know my results ah? i failed again is it?"
[she] "no lah, jus heard from [my A math teacher] that you didn't do very well."
[me] "so must be i failed again lah."
[she] "it's not abt failing lah. you never study is it?"
[she] "aiyoh, those are very impt topics. you'll need them even if you do math in jc. you need help then come & find me ok?"
(the above convo was condensed. the rest were jus entended lame jokes of me trying to make the situation a little better for myself & her telling me abt math in jc.)
and then we left our own ways. she to the staff room. me & my buddy to the classroom. it wasn't much further back to my classroom from where we parted, but yet on the way there, tears started flowing. i sat on a table outside my classroom and cried. i knew i had failed, and i didn't understand why all the work i put in didn't pay off. worse still, to have the matter raised by my fav teacher.
friends who didn't understand came & said: "aiyah, don't take her words to heart lah. teachers are like that one, only like to scold and scold." i yelled back at them cos i didn't like them talking abt her like that. but my buddy was there to fend them off & console me, encouraging me, telling me that i should seek her help & be glad she's concerned abt me. she knew, that i wasn't upset at the teacher, but more than ever, at myself.
when i got back my A math prelim papers, it was an E8. even aft sympathy marks & moderation, i could only bring it up to D7. ha. i felt a bit bad to ask my fav teacher to help me instead, cos she was actually my E math teacher so it's not really within her work scope. yet she was so friendly & brushed aside my embarrassment immediately.
"neh mind lah, can help you then good lah!"
i progressed well under her guidance, cos i could understand her explanations. day aft day, we'll be in the sci lab together solving math problems. when i got back my O level results, it was an A2 for my A math. i couldn't ask for more & i couldn't repay my gratitude to her enough.
she wasn't the only teacher who had such an impact on me in sec 4. there's another one whom i'm close to, who knew too, how to push me to my max potential. till today, the 2 pictures i took with them are still on my computer desktop. the smiles, the linked arms, the funky poses, the synchronised clothes & the stories behind the 2 pictures. they mean so much to me.
i miss the teachers & staff at scgs. they made studying so much more enjoyable, with a homely & personal touch to it. :)

yo hoho & a bottle of rum, a pirate's life for me
went out with tiq, queen & grace on a girls' outing to the movies on friday - pirates of the caribbean 2. :)
the character of captain jack sparrow is so lovable! hilarious and adorable fella. hai. as they say, if the guy ain't naughty, the girls ain't gonna like him either. orlando bloom, as will turner, plays a pretty charming character too. chivarous, loyal & gentlemanly. aww. but i personally prefer jack. the last scene where he leapt into the kraken's mouth....aahh!! i'm so gonna catch the last episode! haha. didn't watch the 1st episode tho. shall find the opportunity to do so.
anyway, cute guys and characters aside, i think the filmography and sequences for this film was amazing. especially liked the sequence when jack (yes, him again!) was escaping from the cannibals while being tied to a stick. hilarious man! too bad i missed the making of POTC2. all the blue screens, special effects, stunts etc...if i don't get into animation, movie production's the next in line for me! :) POTC2 is super massive lah. they even built their own lagoon for the production. goodness knows how many millions went into the making. O.o
haha...as usual, the 4 of us took up 2 couple seats. i think anyone who goes to the movies with me will always end up in the couple seat. fell in love with the seat ever since the box office allocated me one when i went to watch harry potter 3 with my girlfren. lol. it's really comfortable and gives you more space...how to say no? lol. so terrible of me, depriving true couples of their love seats. heh heh. oh yes, we got to watch the movie in the GRAND CATHAY. that means all large red cushioned seats, with red velvet curtains and dim lights. quite a grand but romantic atmosphere. very enjoyable. which led tiq to experiment on the couple seat...much to my surprised horror since i was sitting next to her & she was so sneaky! nothing much lah, but i'm lazy to divulge any details here either. haha. :p
ugh. my throat has been inflammed over the weekend. tonsils i think. maybe cos i've been too heaty. but anyway, it hurts a lot now and it's so hard to eat anything that i've kinda lost my appetite. :( hard to talk or laugh or cough or sneeze also so don't expect me to talk a lot in school the next few days either. hai. :( i've slept so much today cos i was too sleepy to do anything else. ha. i'm never quite gonna get into my mugging mode anytime soon at this rate. >_<
aye. a pirate's life (with captain jack sparrow) for me. lol. :p

friends & the best of them =)
got a little time to spare now so shall write my 'article'. the apostrophe's there cos it's jus sth i thought abt while feeling a bit emo a few day ago. heh. :p oh yes, it was mohan's birthday yesterday. HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY MOMO!! :) :)
you know, it's not easy to find best friends. sure, there're nice pple everywhere you go. but how many actually complement your personality and are willing to accept it? best friends are the greatest blessings and the best part abt them is that there's no upper limit of one. of cos, there may be 1 or 2 that is the closest to you out of all your best friends. those can consider them soul mates alr lah. hee. :) :)
anyway, i'm very very glad that in the short span of 2 years, i've found so many best friends (can't finish counting on 1 hand!) and a perfect soul mate. :) considering i didn't have many before that were so close and long-lasting, i really treasure you gals. (u know who u are! :)) jus for fun, i shall attempt to define a best friend here but there's definitely much more than this! ;)
anatomy of a best friend/soul mate:
- a great mind (cos great minds think alike) - observant eyes that can read you - 2 listening ears - a big smile :D - a sealed mouth jus for secrets - 2 helping hands - a loving heart <3 - an upper torso of hugs - laughter that runs in the blood - skin thick enough to point your flaws out - feet that can walk a mile in your shoes - a mood detector that runs on perfect timing - extra pockets of time for you - a complementing personality - a soul fated to yours!
pardon the terminology. this comes from a bio student. haha. :p hai, but everyone's so busy mugging nowadays so there's not much to talk abt except studies. it's even harder to talk if the other fella's in another sch. :( i can't wait for the darn A levels to be over so that we can go out and play! :) :) i miss the O level mugging days. A level mugging sucks. actually, mugging itself sucks. ah i'm starting to crap. crap. i shall stop. :p
here's sth else that's really inspiring for you to munch on: (from shikz's blog..thks babe!)
"By the time God made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime...
An angel appeared and said,
"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And God answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
have a kiss that can cure anything
from a scraped knee to a broken heart
and she will do everything- with only two hands.
Angel was astounded by the requirements
"Only two hands!? No way!
And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish."
But I won't," God protested.
"I am so close to finishing this creation
that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick
AND can work 18 hour days."
The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft."
"She is soft," God agreed,
"but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."
"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.
God replied,
"Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate."
The angel then noticed something,
and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying
to put too much into this one."
"That's not a leak,"
God corrected,
"that's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.
God said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,
her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed.
"You are a genius, God.
You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing."
And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear
about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think
there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman
is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH

bits and pieces
had an intention to write some article but i'll save it for another day cos there're too many scrappy little things coming in to talk abt. heh.
and so i got back my econ and GP back today. got a D and a B3 respectively which i think is decent enough cos i maintained. actually got a 59 for GP, so jus as i was trying to see where to get 1 more mark, my gp tutor announced that there was a 1-mark moderation on essay. WHOOPEE! lucky lucky, agreed? :) :) so, that brings my CT2 results to officially a COOD. or CODO. depending on how you wanna pronounce it. i personally prefer COOD. sounds like an extended cod fish. lol. sorry, lame joke.
went for TSD public performance with queen yesterday, who turned up with a purple top & jeans - just what i was wearing as well. 2nd time it happened alr. :) must say the performances were really good and humourous, or in the case of san's group piece, i'd say dead-humourous. haha. yes yes, i'm currently in a very lame-joke-kind-of-mood right now. :p didn't understand bits & pieces here and there but it was sufficiently insightful & entertaining for the evening. also learned that the TSD folks have an amazing ability to scream, shout and get violent with each other. yikes.
TOP 3 ACHIEVEMENTS is driving me c.r.a.z.y.!! it's the second time my achievement on council has been rejected. ugh. not this, not that, too much, too little, whatever lah. seriously, i think it's an achievement on its own if you can even get this thing right on your 1st try. rah.
tiq tried (haha!) to enlighten me on the impending disaster of prelims and A levels during her supposed PE lesson which was my 1st break today. sneaky gal happily sat in the council room eating a hearty meal and said "it's my PE lesson now" when i walked in. -.-" tsk tsk. so anyway, according to my dear study guru, we only have abt 5 weeks left to study for prelims, assuming we take 3 weeks to do past year papers, and so that's abt a week for each subject. hmmm. relativity of time in terms of studying. a concept that i've never quite grasped since the start of my schooling days. guess i must consult my study guru & stick to her to pressurize myself. lol. :p
rambled enough. out.

the world, the cup, & the ball at your feet.
haha...i'm blogging abt the 2006 world cup only after it has been over for more than a day. lagging i know, but was trying to catch up on sleep 1st. (hey, gotta make use of the half-day that the school gave rite?) heh.
and so italy wins france to take the world cup. bah. i'm not a fan of both teams so the finals was kinda like an anti-climax for me. thought the 3rd-4th placing playoff between germany & portugal was much more interesting to watch. anyway, i think this world cup has certainly changed my perspective of a few other teams. actually jus germany & australia specifically.
i'm a fan of england (duh.) but that's out of loyalty. seeing them play in this world cup was agony. haha. :p looking at the way australia played, i believe they deserved at least a draw against brazil & italy. for a non-regular at the world cup, they have certainly raised their game and impressed the world. they have such a cute team nick too...socceroos!! :)
germany! ah gosh, i think i've fallen for their team. they play so well, only to admit defeat at the 2-freaking-last-min goals from italy!! i like the fact that almost all their players have a clean look and they play a fair game with lots of sportsmanship too. haha...tho i think lahm has been looking like he has either (a) not slept for 10 days or (b) been bashed by thugs the nite before. but he's such an adorable puny little thing running on the field. :) jasmine says the german names sound like poodle names (read: podolski). haha...well, i like their names precisely cos they sound so cute. skis, neiders, lahms & what have yous. hahaha. :p at least they are pronouncable. heh.
lazy to comment on the technical play of the teams cos firstly i don't think i'm qualified enough to comment on game play and secondly the cup's in italy alr so comment also no use. hahah. i think it'll suffice to know that at least i see the "cute guys" & the "game play" sides of a soccer match. :)
ah yes, must write my theory of econs-aft-world-cup. see, italy won, so if they are nice enough celebrate with the rest of the world, then prices of pasta & pizza will go down (in the short run). however, if demand exceeds supply, then pasta & pizza would be become expensive (in the long run). on the other hand, demand for french food (deliFRANCE?) would probably go down (in the short run). effect on prices will probably depend on the elasticity. hahaha. :p so, in conclusion, go eat at pastamania or pizza hut (not californian pizza ah!) while the italians are still celebrating! lol. (eh, don't take my words seriously ah!)

a great game overall i must say, both the seniors & juniors played very well. :) a pity not everyone could come down. i played as right-winger in the 1st half and i really sucked. played as striker in the 2nd half and played much better. managed to set up 2 goals. heh heh. probably shows that i play better in the striker position...but hai, only strikers like me lay off the ball for others instead of scoring the goal myself. hahaha. the new DSA girl, Kuan Ren, played a superb game. gosh, her 1st goal was a half-volley! *shocks* can only say that i'm REALLY impressed. hope she joins our team next year! :)
we had a nice BBQ in the school, followed by elections and handover for the next EXCO. so, congratulations to the following people who are now the 2nd EXCO:
President: Jaslyn Leong
Vice-president: Vivian Eng
Secretary: Eileen
Treasurer: Dorcas
Quarter-mistress: Jie Min
Head of Discipline: Jing Jing
Marketing & publicity head: Michelle
was telling jaslyn that not only did she take over my position as president, she even 'inherited' my golden boot award from last year! haha. well, i'm jus glad to have such a worthy junior. :) hee. all the best to the new EXCO! :)

lady luck works her magic on me again! :)
can't help but draw a line of similarity between me and the the main character Ashley in the movie "jus my luck!". we're both lucky pple. haha. of cos, not so lucky to the extent in the movie but it's definitely good in a reality check. :)
incident 1:
abt a week back, was thinking of soccer players who wear no. 10 (like me) cos most of them are really famous & inspirational figures and whether anyone wrote a book on it. now, i'm not the kind of person to look at book reviews in TODAY but a few days later i happened to see a book review exactly on the book i was thinking of! haha. new item on my wishlist...
incident 2:
abt 2 days ago, picked up the wallet of a Dunman High girl on the bus and called the sch to leave a msg for her. thought she would be staying in the east so very hard to return the wallet to her. turns out her mum called me and aft asking, found out that we stay merely 2 streets (or 2 bus-stops) away from each other! made life a whole lot easier for both of us when meeting up to return the wallet. hee. :)
incident 3:
had been wondering if i had any chance to meet sheryl on the bus for a few days. guess what? i met her on the bus on the way home today! :) :) and considering that
(a) i almost missed the bus,
(b) she almost wanted NOT to take that bus,
(c) i chose to stay back later in sch for nothing,
(d) she was wondering if she would meet me when the bus passed vj,
(e) & she was with a friend whom she wanted to intro to me a long time ago if not for the lack of opportunity...
i am convinced that fate (or lady luck) was working magic on me. really! :) :)
what pleasant pleasant surprises. *whee* ;)

chick flicks!
i've gotta admit, i do have a soft spot for chick flicks. they're so funny & sweet && most have really HAWT guys in them!! can gush in the cinema without anyone looking at you too. heh. :p jus finished watching "jus my luck!" with tiq, muzzie & san today. seriously, it's the movie with the most smooching scenes i've ever seen. really, it makes any loving couple want to smooch rite away. (well, i know the pair sitting behind me did.) san was flinching at all the kissing scenes. silly girl. :p
anyway, to quote san/tiq (i can't rmb who!), these 5 days of "holiday" aft the common tests certainly felt a lot more like the jun hols than the actual jun hols itself. i shall modify this list which i choped from san's blog...(hey that's what girlfrens are for! :p)

play eat drink & be merry =D
ok, so the party at waikin's place wasn't really a party (partly cos i didn't stay to watch soccer) but it was nice anyway. :) nice cos waikin's place is a service apartment and cos the gathering was small & simple. gosh, staying in service apartment is like staying in hotel everyday lah. there's even a complimentary breakfast every morning! O_o
came back from john's party jus a while ago and the atmosphere there is totally different. SO many pple - mahjong, computer gaming, cards, PS, Xbox, even drinking games. jus abt every party entertainment available. pretty much like last yr's party. i spent most of my time playing mahjong and burnout. too bad the mahjong queen (tiq!!) wasn't around. :p food-wise i can only recall eq grabbing tons of sandwiches for the mahjong folks and the interesting alcoholic peach jelly that was *woah*. must admit i got high playing burnout. again. hai. BUT I BEAT MOHAN AT BURNOUT! 10 takedowns!
haha...here's my classic moment of the day:
john's mum: "hey, are you the one who caught the frog here last yr?"
me: (wow she even remembered?!) "yea i did. so, any more for me to catch this yr?"
she: "no. it's not the rainy season. but have you caught your frog prince yet?"
me: *stunned* (rite...) "err....no."
awkwardironic damn hilarious. lol. :p
