meet the kallang ROAR!!

hahaha. i actually gave in to my temptation to go watch the ASEAN football championship final first-leg match between s'pore & thailand today. partly cos like goodness-knows-when it's returning to s'pore, like whether s'pore can make it to the finals again, and like it's the last football match to be played at the national stadium. i think that alone is worth the $7. :) me, elton, sia see & cherie took cab down to tampines stadium during lunchtime yesterday jus to buy tickets k! :p

so anyway, was decked in my liverpool jersey. duh, red lah, somemore is champions' jersey leh! hahaha. a bit off the point but still must mention. lol. so shameless. watching the match, i would say that the lions have improved their game quite a bit. but of cos, top teams never stop identifiying their mistakes and improving on them. s'pore is lucky to have gotten away with some of their mistakes. got off to a good start at 18 min with a 1-0 lead, only to be equalised at ard the 50th min. ugh.

then at the 83rd min, the ref decided to award this penalty to s'pore and the thais were so angry with the decision that they walked off the field. like omg. O.o (actually i didn't know what was going on when watching at the stadium cos can't hear commentary. only found out later from tiq who was watching from home. ) frankly, the ref was also a bit sotong lah, like dunno what he's doing also. there was a penalty that shld have been awarded to s'pore 30 min earlier wasn't awarded. then this controversial one he go and award it. -.-"

and so the fans at the stadium jus stood there and jeered at the ref and thais for abt 15 min before the game resumed. haha. that stupid clapping rhythm followed by a particular malay swear word. damn funny to watch the fans doing it. also during the 15 min, there was some scruffle between the s'pore and thai fans....saw someone being taken away by the police cos was sitting near the thai fans area. aye, 1 game like that also so dramatic. -.-"

anw, back to the game. it resumed and we whacked in the penalty.... 2-1 to s'pore. like YAY!! :) hee hee. hopefully our lead will hold out thru the 2nd leg of the match in thailand. was quite fun doing the kallang ROAR!! with all the other fans, of which i know some of the soccer pple & coaches, and jiahao were there to watch. sure got other pple i know who were there but not aware & didn't have the luck to meet them. so hard to see pple lah. like some red sea like that. lol. :p

my fren said the best seats are at the grandstand (for close-up view) and the top of the stadium (for aerial view). bah, i say the best spot to be in is right smack in the centre of that white circle on the field when the ref blows the whistle for the game to start. HAHA. man, i miss that adrenaline rush of playing as striker. watching as an ex-player-cum-fan is a totally different experience from that of the players' or the ordinary fans'. :p

barely have time to blog, so my poor lj has been put on hold. haha. well, at least i can find time to go out with friends and dearies. and besides being occasionally emotionally stressed at times, i'm pretty much satified/content/happy with what i'm doing. so fine for now. i jus need the bed for longer periods of time. :p

damn. that is LUCASFILM ANIMATIONS SINGAPORE, for yelling out loud!!

i was so tempted to follow behind him and like find out where his office is. lol. :p (so much for 'following my dreams.') haha!

- one of my guppies gave me a late birthday present today....17 baby guppies!! (19 would have been a nice number but i'm happy all the same!) :) :)

- recieved a very nice & sweet froggie letter + present in the mail from san today. thanks dearie! love ya lots! :)

- my house is under going some MASSIVE self-renovation by my dad now. so things are looking terribley messy. *dies* lol. :p

- i realise i'm starting to get scared of getting back my A level results. erps. >.<

- i dreamt that i met i-know-who along the street, and he was wearing his army gear!! so adorable. X)

ah....i think that's it. a bit tired to think/recall anything alr. lol. :p

no, i'm not the kind to be so obsessive abt being pretty or rich. but the thoughts abt 'my significant half' has been stuck in my head for a few days now. a little moody abt it i guess, but i know there's no point being impatient, upset or angry. an empty feeling perhaps? but i hate to use the word 'empty' cos my ego gets in the way. hahah. :p

on principles:

aloha! haha. :p

update on the 100+ page book list that i'm ploughing through....i'm done with page 33!! hahahah. must jia you! hee hee. :p

anyway, today was pretty slack at work, cos i only had this stupid book list to plough through so no one was bugging me at all. hahaha. jus me && dear pc. PLUS, we all got to knock off at 3.30pm today cos there was gonna be the office new year's party!! hahaha. yah, a bit late i know but nvm lah, can play can alr. lol. :p

and so the theme was aloha! (O.o) and we were all stuck partying on the 2nd floor office - where my workstation is (we occupy the 3rd & 4th floor also) while it was raining cats, dogs, and monkeys outside. hahah. no surprise that i was one of the youngest there, esp since most of the jc pple have ponned the party. and the 'older' staff aren't exactly enthu in these things, esp the games part. but surprise surprise, my head of dept (one of the older ones in my dept) was super high & young-at-heart!! hahaha. O.o

so i played along with her and even answered one of the quiz qns with full marks! (what's the color of the tables & chairs in the pantry? ans: tables - beige, black, green, red. chairs - black, white) hahaha. goes to show how much time i actually spend in the pantry. :p no lah, i jus like to notice these things. 1st time i step in the pantry and i noticed the colors alr so jus lucky lah. haha. plenty of food and everyone went home with a lucky draw prize! hahaha. not bad eh?? ;) i got a shoebag. :)

i think it's so meaningful to listen to these two songs back-to-back in this order. ok, i really dunno how to explain the 'meaningful-ness' of it so erm, interpret it on your own but jus don't jump to conclusions abt me based on your own interpretation. haha.

been thinking a lot since the nite out with tiq & queen, abt the stuff we talked & the memories that came back to me. hee. cos got a lot of time when travelling to & fro from office, and office work can be so boring that the mind starts wandering. haha. :p

i realise love/crushes can be such an addiction. pretty much like drug addiction, except with a much rosier hue. it's detrimental when the heartaches come and pple get so scared of being hurt again. and yet.....yet, we all love the feeling of being head-over-heels with someone that we're willing to do it all over again.

but that's not the end of the story. there's another 'yet' to come.

...yet we have to wait for the right person to come along. yup. i'm a strong believer in destiny...that the 'one' for you will always always be connected to you in some way, somehow. coincidences that seem too much of a coincidence, opportunities that jus seem to open up for you. i think i watch too many hongkong drama serials, like triumph in the skies, which i absolutely love!! :p

ok, back to what i was saying. yah, so i’m now stuck in this stage where i'm over the last crush, past the stage where being free-of-crushes made me feel good, into the stage where i wanna get back that gushing feeling. :) i guess it's partly cos i don't see my girlfrens so often nowadays and so loneliness gets to me sometimes. esp when travelling and i see couples. hmm. >.<

i really wonder when/where/how my next crush would appear. and since my first one was such a classic, vivid, unforgettable one, haha, it's not gonna be easy not to compare it with the next one. :p

lookin' for some hot stuff baby tonight!!

work: nothing exciting except the 100+ page worth of lists of book titles (30+ on each page!) that my supervisor wanted me to check on the database. hur hur. i'm only done at the 4th page aft like 2 hours. -.-" damn tedious.

play: met up with my dearies, lay queen & tiq!! (san you were missed!! >.<) yea man, me and tiq, the 2 'virgin clubbers' decided to go for a nite out at the clubs with queen before her royal highness leaves for the US! (the great 'unknown!...haha) the plan was to meet for dinner before heading off to DXO. we were early and so we took a leisurely stroll to the esplanade and sat there to talk & talk & talk. haha. when we finally got up to go DXO, lo and behold, DXO was holding a private party and so we couldn't go in. haha.

maybe it was a blessing in disguise cos we then decided to go clarke quay and join any ladies' nite available. walked into the 'clinic', this doctor-themed club, and then sat for like 3 min before walking out again cos the bar wasn't open (that was at 10pm). then curiosity got the better of us and we all went over to check out MOS. haha. :p

WE WENT IN!!

hahah. yup, for free too cos it was ladies' nite. :) :) we spent like half an hour (not sure really cos it's quite easy to lose track of time in there) walking around, checking out the different rooms (& the toilets! ahah). I LOVE THE DISCO ROOM!!! man i couldn't resist the HUGE disco ball and disco music!! so aft that we sat down on the bar seats overlooking the dance floor. and jus stone there. haha. we didn't even order drinks! :p then waited for the dance floor to open before me and tiq jumped in and danced a bit. *WWHHEEEE!!!* had such a great time, esp when it's on such a low budget! (less than $3!!) lol. of cos, having work the next day & nagging mums, we had to leave jus as the party was warming up. but it was a good fun night. agreed. haha. :)

really love the feeling of sitting under the stars and jus talking our hearts out abt everything. school, work, guys being off to the army (all the best to you guys!), all the deep, dark (naughty!) secrets/gossips, and of cos, our all-time favourite, relationships. haha. it's been a really a long time since i sat down properly to recall the times when i was head-over-heels with i-know-who. ahah. i miss the feeling of being secretly happy over a crush. it jus seemed so easy to be happy. :) no crushes at the moment, so there's a sense of yearning i guess. >_<>

1st day at work.

yea man, in tiq's words...."welcome to the working world." lol.

ok, so i was feeling like a lost sheep in the office. and yes, i was late for work. haha. so -.-" rite. as if i didn't leave a bad enough impression yesterday. ahahhaha. but it wasn't that bad lah, cos i was abt 10min late and even if i had arrived on time, i would have clocked in late by the time my access card was issued to me. hahaha. heck lah. :p

i knew that there was a 15min break at 9.30am. but aft returning from the briefing for new staff, it didn't strike me that it was alr 9.30am. then i blur blur go and ask my colleague for any work to do.

and then she looked at me and said: "you starting now?"

i was like "yah, briefing over alr what...so start working lor."

"you not having your break? you have a 15min break at 9.30 leh. which is now."

-looks at watch: 9.37am-

"oh. oops. didn't realise the time"

"go to the pantry, make yourself some tea, aft the break then come to me again. i'm eating now also."

"hahaha. ok."

blur sheep rite. hahaha. had quite a nice lunch break with one of my colleagues, tong bao. i'm the youngest of the lot and the next youngest was her (probably in her late twenties), who even so, has alr worked there for 3 years! O.o yah, so anw, she was very nice to introduce me to the 'lunch culture'...like where to eat and stuff. :)

and guess what. aft returning from lunch, it was discovered that the electricity to my workstation (and the entire row) had been cut off. due to the renovation works going on since the office moved here only abt a month ago. hahah. so everyone was slacking around aft lunch. so much for the welcome to the working world. how amusing. am not calling my workstation my 'table' yet cos mine's not ready. i'm like sitting at someone else's table for 2 days, then shifting to another's table for the next 2 days, before my table is ready next week. i feel like a nomad. haha. :p

as for the nightmare typing test, it was, as what the head said, the hardest thing that anyone would have to type so turns out i didn't perform that badly. and the jobs that i had to do so far were managable. there's still the translation to do, but i had my trusty dictionary with me and the hanyupinyin of the words were on the book details so that made life a whole lot easier. :)

to hell, to heaven, and tossed back to earth.

went for my job interview today....which was pretty ok. EXCEPT FOR THE BLOODY TYPING TEST. hahah. partly naive on my part in hoping that the interview was gonna be conducted in english even tho i know that was the chinese dept....haha, but i was still prepared for it being in chinese so that was ok. the typing test didn't come as a surprise. but the problem was that the head of dept gave me a passage of traditional chinese words, claimed that it was a SHORT paragraph and told me to type it out. now, the chinese input function of windows XP doesn't support traditional chinese so it's as good as translating the traditional form to the simplified chinese form. and it didn't help that i had difficulties adjusting to the chinese input program and so.....

it took me 15min for the 1st 4 characters. damn sad case lah. -.-"

haha. so anyway, i was getting really irritated cos firstly it was taking way too long to type, and secondly, the dictionary that they provided me with was quite useless cos it doesn't help with the translation and has limited words. thirdly, i was rushing down to suntec for mass dance!!! haha. i got so fed up i told the staff that i had to leave aft typing only half of the passage. by which 45min had alr past!! (yes i was that slow.) :p so much for leaving a good 1st impression but it didn't really matter i guess cos they were so desperate to fill the vacancy that they gave me the job even before giving me the typing test. haha. a bit pointless but the head jus said she wanted to test my range of vocab only. -.-"

and so that was my 'hell' for today.

aft that i went down to suntec to meet my dear 22nds councillors for mass dance!! *whee* this year the event was made official, so the DJ was announcing all our dances. pretty cool. except that the DJ inserted a random song in between every dance so sometimes felt that the rhythm was broken. nonetheless it was nice. :) must say that there seems to be fewer pple this year. and it's not solely my own opinion. anyway, me, as usual, would get horrendously high on the potent mix of 'air + mass dance' and so this time around i went mad enough to ask chris thong (when he was with his frens!) for a photo even tho he totally doesn't know me. hahah. :p i can only be thankful that this year's suntec mass dance is not as emotional for me as the last two. :)

and so that was my 'heaven' for today.

what would be earth then? the reality that hits me that i'm starting work tmr. yes. TMR. hellooo expo. hahaha. gosh, so far. -.-" wish me luck. :p

...train of events.

friday:

crashed O1 again for a short mass dance session. damn, missed the friendship dance part. so it was only 'i wan you'. left the sch quite soon aft cos i had my sec 4 class gathering to attend. (met tiq at novena!! *surprise!*) was good to see some of my old classmates again, esp those whom i haven't seen for 2 years, and those who came back from overseas. must say there was a decent no. of pple who turned up. :) hahaha....but class gatherings being class gatherings, somehow pple jus end up back in their own little cliques. besides, i never eat much at bbqs so went off on a short 'rendezvous' with my dearie. :p but kudos to our dear class reps who took the effort to organise it lah. :) hope the next one's better!

saturday:

went out with tiq!! :) heehee...half of the 'girly gang' (tiq's term!). so we sat down at far east plaza and talked abt SO many things over lunch (which consisted of roti john & pattaya rice :p). our bizarre dreams (*secret!*), updates on what each other & the councillors are up to, talking abt girls' stuff (as usual)...lol. was really nice to talk to someone like that aft so long. :) then met up with her mum and sis to walk around and shop a bit.

went back to VJ with layqueen, grace, zi ni, shermaine yesterday to crash O1! haha. saw a few other year 3s like john & gang, jehn haur & gang also. :) ended up spending more time walking with zi ni at east coast park while the layqueen, grace and shermaine were blading. lol. then went back for mass dance session! fun fun! sure miss mass dancing, esp with the 22nds.

aft O1, had to rush down to the driving centre for my basic theory test...and i passed!! yay! haha...they allocated 50min for 50 qns and i was so bored cos i finished all the qns in 10min. not that i'm boasting...but pple who have done the test would agree with me that it's quite easy. lucky can leave early so i jus checked thru for abt another 15min then left liao. :p so anyway, it's now on to the final theory test and then to driving the real thing! haha.

btw, anybody interested in going down to the suntec mass dance pls let me know k? it's NOT on fri!! it's only tentatively scheduled to be on mon, 8th jan. i'll have to check with the juniors again. :)
