v is for victoria (victory!)

oh man oh man oh man, we finally won our 1st proper field match! played a friendly against SRJC today and we won 4-0! certainly a big boost for the team moral (esp the yr 2s...heh). it was really nice to see everyone cheering on for the whole team.

a few highlights of the game:

-jingjing scored twice, once in the 1st third and the other in the 3rd third. jaslyn scored a nice one too, while steph scored from a penalty. (HA! 4 goals, i can laugh my socks off at that you-know-who!)

-oh oh, must mention the part where one of the opponents literally bounced off vivian and the both of them fell and rolled on the floor. it sounds mean to say this but it looks really funny from the sidelines. lol. good on you viv.

-charmaine gave a fantastic kick on the ball that went like past the halfway line! good gracious.

anyway, it was all in all a good game. the year 1s gained new experience and everyone felt good winning. congrats & good effort everyone! only flaw was perhaps that claudia and shimin had to leave us. all the best to the both of you! :)

personally a bit disappointed with myself cos i think i was just playing an average game. maybe it was me or maybe it was the lack of chances. think the chances didn't really come in the 2nd third, but i missed a chance or two in the 3rd third. argh. but i did surprise myself in pulling off a split-sec pass to jaslyn while running. hard to describe it here but yea, it definitely wasn't easy. that's the only thing i think was commendable on my part.

me: no.

ash: what position do you play ah?

me: striker.

wah lao eh, i felt so dumb lah. i mean like, striker and then don't score. -_-" damn it. gotta practise more or else i can't defend my title. worse still to get cut from the team! freak.

anyway, time to put soccer aside for a while. elects camp is coming up and i'm joining the ranks of the facilitators. :) *woohoo* till next thurs, i will not be seen on the field playing soccer.
